A Complete Baby Travel Packing List for Parents

Planning a vacation with baby can easily feel overwhelming, especially when you are reminded of just how much stuff one tiny baby requires while on holiday. We’re here to make this part of your holiday planning process a whole lot easier. Here’s a complete packing list of all your baby’s travel must-haves to ensure that you have a fun and stress-free holiday with your little ones.

Baby Carrier

A baby carrier is a must and is an efficient way to move around while travelling. Invest in a light weight and compact carrier to help you move freely.

Bringing a stroller can be a life saver on a vacation. Not only can you move faster but sometimes your baby can easily fall asleep in it thus easing their and your journey. And when your itinerary involves a lot of walking, a stroller can be of great help too.

However, carrying a stroller can be stressful, especially when flying. It is important to be informed and check about the flight rules in advance on the airline you choose to travel with.

Most airlines don’t charge additionally for strollers as courtesy, but it is better to confirm before flying on budget airlines. The common rule is that you can check it in with your baggage. Make sure you go for an umbrella stroller as those fold nicely and airlines are used to handling and stowing them away.

Clothes

The great thing is that baby clothes don’t really take up much space in your bag. Make sure to carry 2-3 pairs of everything so that you have an extra pair of change always. With diaper leak and spit up situations, it’s best to have extra clothes on hand for a quick change.

Our Softsens clothing range has the perfect day & night outfits that are designed from soft, gentle and breathable fabrics like organic cotton and bamboo to keep your little one comfortable all through your holiday. Click here to choose from our wide range of travel-ready onesies, rompers, jumpsuits, tops, shorts, leggings, dresses and much more.

Nursing & Feeding Essentials

Depending on your baby’s age and feeding habits, here are a few items you will surely need to pack.

  • Feeding Bottles - You should pack as many bottles as your baby uses in 24 hours, plus one or two spares. If you do your washing and sterilizing in the evening or overnight, you’ll always have enough bottles for the following day.
  • Breast Pump
  • Formula
  • Burp Cloths and Clean Bibs
  • Travel Spoon and Feeding Bowl
  • Sippy Cup

Health, Skincare & Bath Essentials:

  • Diapers: Diapers become the most important item on your list. Carry a count per day and few more as back-up.
  • Changing Mat: Makes it easy to do a quick diaper change when commuting.
  • Wet wipes: You will need tons and tons of these for every foreseeable scenario when travelling.
  • Diaper Rash Cream: The chances of your baby getting diaper rash are high when travelling considering the long intervals between changing diapers when on holiday. Ensure you have a tube of diaper rash cream always.
  • Disposable Diaper Bags: These always come handy while travelling.
  • First Aid Kit: Ensure you carry general purpose medicines for your baby (for common ailments like cough, cold, diarrhoea, colic, etc.)
  • Important Bath & Skincare Essentials: Carry your baby’s must-have daily skincare essentials such as baby shampoo, baby wash, baby lotion, along with other outdoor essentials like baby-safe sunblock and mosquito repellents. Our All-in-One Baby Skincare Bundle with a free travel kit was voted by Softsens parents as the perfect travel companion!

Book/ Toys: Carry a nice, illustrated book or a few small toy items along with you so that baby has something fun and entertaining to play with during the journey.

Identification: It is always better to carry a copy of your baby’s identification. Keep proper IDs for yourself and your baby handy.

Most of all, don’t forget to leave your worries behind and focus on making precious memories with your family.
